IBS Clue is made by MU YUHONG. We treat your health data as the most sensitive kind there is. In short: your logs stay on your phone, and a meal's photo or text only leaves it when you've agreed to AI analysis and ask the AI to analyse that meal — and isn't kept afterwards.
No account
IBS Clue has no sign-up or login and collects no account details such as your name, email or phone number.
Data on your phone
Your food log and meal photos, symptom and stool logs, IBS-SSS assessments, and the name, age range, alarm features, history and dietary restrictions you enter are stored only on your phone. We can't access them. If you use iCloud or computer backups, they're included in your phone's backup, kept by Apple or your computer.
What AI analysis sends
When you ask the AI to analyse a meal, the app sends the meal photo (downsized) or your text, a short dietary hint (such as confirmed trigger groups and your dietary restrictions), and a random device identifier that isn't linked to you (to prevent abuse) through our relay on Cloudflare to the AI provider DeepSeek. The relay doesn't store photos or text; Cloudflare may briefly log request details such as time and IP address for security and operations. DeepSeek processes the data under its own privacy policy, and its servers may be in China. Your name, age range, alarm features and symptom and stool logs are never sent to the AI. Before the first analysis the app explains this and asks for your consent; you can turn it off any time in Me → Data.
Reports for your doctor
The PDF report is created on your phone and only goes to someone else when you share it.
Subscriptions and payment
Subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store. We never receive your payment details or see your Apple Account; the app only asks the App Store, on your phone, whether a subscription is active.
Notifications, camera and photos
Check-in and trial-ending reminders are local notifications on your phone. The camera and photo library are used only to take or pick meal photos.
What we don't do
No ads, no third-party analytics or tracking, and we never sell or share your data.
Deleting your data
Me → Delete all data erases every log and photo on your phone, and deleting the app does the same. Our servers hold none of your logs.
Your rights
Our servers hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete; the data on your phone is entirely under your control. For content already sent to DeepSeek, you can exercise your rights with DeepSeek under its privacy policy. Contact us with any question.
Children
IBS Clue isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
